an easy way for friends and family to keep up with life on the dark continent or wherever we end up...
Back up and running...
Apologies to everyone it's been over A YEAR since I updated this thing and there's been plenty happening in the mean time...
so a belated MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR, HAPPY BIRTHDAY etc to everyone!!!!!!!!
I've literally just put a whole YEAR's stuff up but I think only the latest blogs show on the screen to start with, so if you go over <== there on the left side, there's an archive where you can find all the old ones. There's a few at the start of 08 in Nigeria, Zanzibar in May 08, then our move the US, Canada in Sept 08, Cuba in Jan 09 and Guatemala and Mexico in Easter 09, enjoy...

Went to a short film festival run by the Nigerian Field Society and the Goethe Institute in Lagos. The had some great little films. One in particular which was produced by Communication for Change was about a quite famous artist by the name of Nike Okundaye who has been battling to educate women to give them opportunity to gain their own independent income. She was on hand and answered a few questions. Talk about hard yards, this woman has seen it all, been arrested for it, had her property destroyed / confiscated because of it, you name it. To add to all of that, she - and her students - produce some awesome stuff ( a little too expensive for me, but still good)
All I can say is I am extremely impressed. Best of luck Nike.
